Basanti BioMedical is an early-stage biomedical startup founded in early 2023 with the vision of transforming innovative biomedical ideas into practical, affordable, and impactful healthcare solutions. The company was established to bridge the critical gap between early-stage scientific research and real-world therapeutic implementation, especially in areas where conventional approaches have limited success.
The company derives its name from a 70-year-old consecrated household deity — a symbol of trust, faith, and guidance. We are focused on delivering next-generation oncology degraders with early evidence of efficacy in varied types of cancers systems.

Our Scientific Strength
Basanti BioMedical's proprietary receptor-directed multifunctional targeted protein degrader selectively binds on to the cancer cells and kills them by lysis of disease-causing proteins. Our targeted therapy overcomes the limitations of on-target delivery, on-target efficacy, and off-target toxicity of our proprietary molecule.

Basanti BioMedical is aiming to strive daily to achieve our vision which is precisely transforming today's ideation into tomorrow's therapeutic innovation. Our proprietary linker platform based targeted protein degrader has shown potential killing effects on Hepatocellular Carcinoma, Colon Carcinoma and TNBCs. Preclinical is on board. We are in-process for filing a series of patent applications on our novel linker platform as well as our proprietary therapeutic molecule. We expect it to be a game changer in the oncology field.

Debadipta Sarkar
MD & Founder, Basanti BioMedical OPC Pvt. Ltd.
Debadipta Sarkar holds an MSc in Human Physiology with specialisation in Clinical Biochemistry, Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Calcutta. She is focused on translational oncology innovation and is independently bootstrapping early-stage product validation. She is building Basanti BioMedical’s oncology discovery program through CRO-enabled execution, and is committed to developing accessible next-generation targeted therapeutics from India.
